Travellers who arrive in Las Palmas airport (locally known as Gando) are normally headed either towards the financial district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (in the north-east) or towards the holiday resorts and beaches of the south, located in well-known areas like Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Arguineguín and Puerto de Mogán. In this post, you will learn how to go from Gran Canaria airport to the beach as well as to the capital of the island, and the reverse journey.
The local bus company, Global, makes several lines available to commuters so that they can reach any of the destinations above inexpensively, smoothly and as quickly as possible. After landing in Gran Canaria airport, we must walk to the interisland terminal and go across the street. Next, if we go through the parking lot, signposts guiding us to the bus stops will appear soon. Most services run between 6a.m. and 11p.m., plus there is even a night bus covering the route between Las Palmas and the south. You will find detailed info about the specific bus line that will take you to your final destination below.

Transport from Gran Canaria airport to the capital city of the island
If we want to travel to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from the airport, the best choice during the day is bus line 60, a non-stop service specifically designated to transport travellers from and to the airport. It has two main termini in the city: San Telmo (near the old town of Vegueta, with single tickets at 2,30€) and Santa Catalina (in the heart of the commercial district, single tickets being 2,95€). Other alternatives are lines 91 and 01, both of which make a considerable number of stops along the way. During the night, bus 05 is the only one covering the route to Las Palmas.
Travelling from Gran Canaria airport to the south of the island
If our final destination is Vecindario, Playa del Inglés or Maspalomas, we need to hop on the bus 90 or the 66 one. Depending on where we get off, ticket prices may range between 3,50 and 4 euros. Public transport from Gran Canaria airport to the beach (Puerto Rico) or from Mogán to the airport costs 5,45€ when taking bus line 91, the only one making this longer but more than worthwhile journey.
